"Laugh-Cry" - Study Melbourne Photo Competition

Alberto Florez is one happy man this week! He has been shortlisted as a finalist in a Study Melbourne Photography competition. Congratulations! We are very proud of your achievements and wish you all the best for your future career!

Alberto has been studying at Discover English for just over 6 months and we knew of his interest in photography and audio-visual media.

As soon as we found out that Study Melbourne is running photo competition we encouraged him to enter!

Alberto started taking photos more than 10 years ago when his parents gave him his first semi-professional camera. Since then he enjoyed all kinds of photography. It is big passion of his life!

“I'm interested in photography because I can show and abstract my thoughts and ideas freezing time, moments and spirits.

As Henri Cartier-Bresson would say:

“Your eye must see a composition or an expression that life itself offers you, and you must know with intuition when to click the camera.”

I took this photo to show that even when we are surrounded by people each of us is a single universe that sometimes cries and sometimes laughs with or without public.
